The Dension folks do not post firmware anymore unless its explicitly needed as the firmware upgrade process, if not done properly, will cause the ice link to become unusable. Try and contact Tom (just look for any ice link related post) or Dension directly and they will either give you the firmware, or determine that you dont need it.

Firmware is available on an as-needed basis, it is no longer available from the website. Submit the following information via email and I will reply with the firmware needed:
Year
Model
iPod Generation
Current ice>Link Firmware Version
Business CD or Navigation
Here are the procedures for determining your firmware version on your ice>Link Plus:
Turn the key to the on position and select your CD Changer. Once you are in this mode, plug in the iPod to the Active Cradle or Docking cable. During the warning screen, the firmware version can be spotted by looking at the number in the top right corner of the iPod.
I will need this number before we can continue.

What Tom is trying to say is...
We cannot let you download the firmware from the website because, our website designers do not know how to link to it and/or
These firmwares have major problems and as to not make too many people mad, you will be treated like a child and we will give you the firmware at our disposal.  I thought I was in a democratic society?  Am I in China?

No, jamoses66 anwsered it perfectly in post #2.

  Incorrect.
If my current firmware is not working correctly, Dension has not only an obligation to provide me with a working firmware, they must also give direction on how to do the firmware upgrade.  What is the difference between a firmware upgrade given through email or having the same information detailed on the website so that someone can go and review it and understand clearly what the process requires.
If the process is so 'delicate', how about you make it so it's not so hard.  Put out 1 firmware that can detect what IPOD you have and will allow you to select only the firmwares which specifically relate to your IPOD?
WOW    That would be a NOVEL IDEA!  WE must not do that! If we do we cannot blame people when the newest firmware gets installed and they are still having the same problems!  STOP COVERING UP FOR THIS COMPANY.  FIX THE PROBLEMS and deliver the users the product they rightfully paid for! ENOUGH of this coverup   , it's not only insulting but it's showing the ingorance of this company.  The whole point of having downloadable firmwares for customers was one of the reasons I bought this product.
