Feedback on ebay intakes?
Hey, has anyone bought an ebay intake? I'd like something to toss in for sound between autocrosses, and I plan on turbo-ing in the future so I don't see 300 dollars being a very doable expenditure.
Anything around or under 50 bucks, to increase sound but leave performance more or less the same?
ebaymotors/Mazda...Q5fAccessories
Or would that be the minimum to buy for it to be at all effective? That appears to be similar, if not an exact clone, to the Racing Beat offering: FRmiata.htm ... If I could be possibly making power I could see 100 bucks being reasonable.
I had an AEM intake for my old Impreza, loved the sound but I can't foresee putting down the cash when I'll just be replacing it in the future.
Please don't flame gt;.lt; lol
Thanks!

I got that intake for my NB and I Love it... I think i got it from the same vendor as well.. he shipped it to Seoul, Korea for me and he was a good vendor...
You can check out my original thread, but it took me under an hour to install it and I love the results.. It sounds great without being too loud and obnoxious... but no noticable performances changes for me...

Edit: PS... if you're looking for something cheap.. there's alot of cold side intakes that folks made using some elbow shaped pipes and stuff... I think that wold be good too.. honestly if I had seen that before I purchased my intake, i'd probably would have gone that way..
Well I like that the RB intake elbow has been dyno proven to create power, and I'd be afraid of losing power were I to make a franken-intake.
I wonder if I'd have to/be able to modify it, though, to work with my factory strut brace and other underhood bits...
If you have a factory strut brace.. then it won't fit..
Try something like this with one of the ebay kits thats like 50 bux
