ws/eBayISAPI....:X:RTQ:AU:1123
my 89 miata has sock suspension and its the worst I really hate it i feel everybump, i wanna get something thats not to expensive but also have a smooth ride like modern car, is this possible?
If you wanted to swap out the subframes then you can swap out the entire suspension. A-arms etc are different due to geometry changes.
If you are just talking about shocks, then yes they do swap out. Make sure you get the entire upper mounts for the rear shocks.
What's quot;60,000 ksquot;? Is that like km or miles?
They should swap right in. Measure the ride heights before and after. Don't be surprised if it's a little higher afterwards.

yes its km's, aussie slang
In a word, yes. But if you are considering these shock assemblies from the '99 I would pass and go with AGXs.
If you are considering complete suspension assemblies; The front sub frame assembly will need the steering rack as well. The rear mounts have 2 additional mountings not used on the '89.
As components, the arms are dimensionally the same. They are internally braced and consequently heavier and firmer. The upper ball joint has a longer threaded shaft that will need pacers/washers to mate with the '89 spindles as the cotter pin will not match with the castle nut.
The rear assembly will bolt right in, you will need the NB drive shaft to mate with the differential. The exhaust from the '89 will not match up to the hanger on the '99 sub frame and will need a universal muffler mount to work.
The front shocks should have lowering springs and will work fine as an assembly. The rear shocks will need lowering springs, 3/16quot; spacers and cut or Fat Cat bump stops to ride correctly. |
