While not a commercial, the quot;GTI Mk V Joyrides with Helgaquot; cracked me up.  You'd configure a GTI on the VW website and then take it for a ride with Helga.  Depending on what options you chose, there would be associated comments from Helga on your selections.

That's really hysterical.  I also give very high marks to the Citroen transformers one.  These cars are part of the same company, so it wouldn't surprise me if the same agency did both of those ads.  They were really top notch.

Unfortunately because of copyright restrictions they have removed the soundtrack.....stupid Van Halen....if I were them I'd WANT to be associated with this....hell this commercial is better than most of Van Halen's work (then again being a Kink's song maybe they objected to it being in the YouTube video).

I agree...really dumb decision on Van Halen's part.

agreed with you and jt about the Nissan commercial.  Typical of Nissan, though, the commercial starring the 300ZX only aired after production of the 300ZX had ended!
One of my all-time favourite TV car commercials aired in the mid-70s, and was for the new Toyota Corona.  A guy was standing beside his new Corona, someone would walk by and say quot;Looks great, what is it?quot;.  The proud owner would reply quot;My new Toyota Coronaquot;, and everybody would say quot;No wayquot;, quot;get lostquot;, and be rude because they thought the car was much too good looking to be a Toyota.  Finally, he replies to someone, quot;It's an Alfonso di Credenzaquot;, and they nod knowingly and say quot;niiiicequot;..
(I get the quot;looks great, what is it?quot; question all the time now with the Italia - I have been sooooo tempted to use the Alfonso di Credenza line many times, but haven't yet - it seems nobody else remembers that commercial! )

Citroen CX - love the quot;burpquot; at the end.  People make fun of the 80's a lot, but a fair bit of interesting design and quot;artquot; made it through.

No vids but I still smile at the thought of the DR Oldsmobile ads and the quot;Join The Dodge Revolutionquot; ads as well
