my friend has a 99 Ford Mustang GT Convertible 5spd. it has the 2V 4.6L and he already has a BBK Intake. he is stumped on whether he should buy the MAC cat-back ehxuast or Bassani. those are the 2 he is has the most in his head. he would also get BBK or Flowmaster. but MAC and Bassani are his main choices. any opinions are appreciated.
I dont even think you can compare the two. Bassani is so much better especially if he gets the side exhaust. It will cost him more for the Bassani but it is much better.
Bassani=over priced pile of junk.
MAC=pile of junk at a very decent price. Better sound too!
I tend to like Dynomax, Magnaflow, Borla, and even MAC.

He should start with tubular headers. The O.E. exhaust manifolds are very narrow and full of kinks. The O.E. exhaust pipes and muffler aren't that bad. He could gain a lot of power by changing the pulleys and adding a timing adjuster.

how are Bassani and MAC pieces of junk. do u have any info to back that up. obviously chris winters of Crazy Horse Racing didnt feel it was b/c he installed it on my friends rare 1995 Mustang GT-S 5.0. if u read muscle mustang and Fast Fords u should no who he is. his shop which is located in my town does practically every project and dyno results in that mag.
It's called an opinion buddy. Yes even HiFlow has one. WRX's are pieces of shit- there again an opinion, not a fact. That's why we have people that like Ford and people that like Chevy-that's their opnion on which one they like-neither is better.Maybe you should go to sleep before you get too round up and have a stroke.

95' Mustang GT-S?
i knew somebody would ask me bout it. cant believe some of u guys havent herd of it. ill explain. it was built for state police officers on the east coast. and Ford couldnt sell it to them. so they produced it for the public. basically its a 95 V6 body w/o fog lights or a rear wing, it has manual windows, and cloth seats, it is light as hell and it the ultimate drag car. its has a 5.0 in it and only a few hundred were made.

First of all, no cursing. We don't curse in the Mustang forum. I have never said this to any other member, but get out of the Mustang forum and stay out. Go to the 4 cylinder forum where you guys will spend 10 pages on the topic of which exhaust can produce 2 more horsepower than another exhaust. Get a clue, when you're dealing with engines that produce hundreds of horsepower and hundreds of lb-ft of torque, no one cares about 2 horsepower.
Also, you haven't been in the Mustang forum long enough to know that the opinion HiFlow5 0 is as good as it gets.
I have been browsing through your posts and I consider you to be a dabbler in this sport. You pontificate, but have no true knowledge or experience.

I agree with F23A4Racer750IL in a way. I understand its an opinion but why state your opinion if you dont have any facts to back up why you think that? It doesn't matter who you are if u dont have facts or at least a general reason as to why you make an opinion it isnt worth saying it. What I dont agree with is the way u said it. OK, lets chill a little bit, all flaming aside, cause I am really getting sick of it lately!!!! Maybe that's why I'm a little edgy, when it comes to noob's and know it all's such as that 12secv6stang jerk!
Anyway, and opinion is ones personal preference, that is unique to them and facts are not needed for someone to be opinionated.
With that said, Bassani is junk IMO, because they are way over priced, and I don't see any superior quality from them compared to say MagnaFlow or higher end BBK stuff. MAC is only junk cause it's slightly less quality, but at a very reasonable price. I had a set of MAC headers, and hated the individual flange exhaust tubes. They eventually warped and a pry bar was needed to get the bolt holes to line up properly. In all seriousness, I'm actually thinking of getting MAC long tubes and o/r hpipe, cause of the price. MAC is still a decent product at an affordable price, but not the best quality available.
Now, I was not aware that the GT-S Mustang were originally designed to be sold at Highway patrol cars? The only info I have on the GT-S was that they were made to be cheaper for Ford fans on a budget. Not that I don't believe you, but can you supply more information about this, cause I would like to read more about it?

I have a bassani x pipe, but I'll probably go with Bbk LT headers and matching H pipe with stock Bullitt mufflers. |
