I am thinking of these. For $20 shipped why not. It says they don't come w/ instructions but I see a relay included. Does anyone have anything like this? How did you run the wires?

I have 2 sets as part of my CompuStar alarm system
(of course I had a tiny button put in under the steering column to scare some people)

You can't run it into the horn so you don't have to put a switch on it?
I had a Compustar in my e36. That thing was bad. Started the car and wound the window up/down w/ sunroof and an alarm on the keychain. Awsome!
I also have airhorns connected to my alarm.
Are you trying to replace the factory horns with it?
Get one like this

Yup!
You can do three things:
1. take the front bumper off, disconnect the factory horns and connect the airhorns in their place using the relay (get power from the battery connection point, USE A FUSE).
2. install a toggle switch that would control a relay. The relay would let the factory horns work normally (normally closed position), but would use the airhorns instead if the switched is flipped (normally opne position).
3. Another option would be to retain the factory horns, add a push switch and have the switch activate the horns through the relay.
I would really like to keep the horn on the steering wheel. So if I just replaced the horns w. the air horn I can use the stock wires/relay . Basically just put power to the compressor and use all OEM wires which are already run? Also what horns did you buy. Are these ebay one's o.k.?
No, you definitely need to use the relays, as the factory wiring can't handle the amount of current required to turn the compressor.
I have a set of good ol' Clifford horns. Generally speaking, cheap air horns are weak, while more expensive horns are louder.

I'm board and stuck in the house b/c of the Hurricane. Just surfing ebay. Air horns are pretty pimp on cars when you don't expect them
uhh the hurricane, shoulda sold the house in naples...
Go to the Griot's Garage website from--and order the "Italian Air Horn" for $39.95. The air pump and horn are a single integrated unit that installs in front of the radiator behind the kidney grills. It's a nuts and bolts fit with no hole drilling. It can be wired directly into the existing horn circuit with no cutting of existing wiring.
This horn absolutely KICKS ASS! It's like an icepick in your ear at close range, very high pitched and loud as hell.
*raises hand* I've got airhorns. OEM Ferrari horns out of an F355, to be precise.
SimSima325 has a similar set from pepboys. check the vid:
