Throw out bearing noise

My questions just don't stop. OK, pulling out of the garage tonight with little ambient noise, I notice that I can hear a faint rattling sound that goes away when I press the clutch in. Very repeatable. So I go for a 10 minute drive and return home. Try to make the noise again and can't.
So, bad bearing or just a cold tranny?

I'll be watching this thread.  I only have it in neutral and although it's more noticeable when it's cold, I can still hear it after it warms up.  I was just going to ramp her up and replace the tranmission fluid which I suspect is OLD.

BT -- I should have noted that mine is when I let the clutch out in neutral too. In/out, quiet/faint noise
I just changed my tranny fluid (I believe it was 128k original) yesterday too.

ditops - does the noise stop when you just barely put your foot on the clutch pedal? If so, put a gob of grease on the end of the slave cylinder rod where it engages the clutch fork.
