Anybody Running 215 45/17's
It will soon be time to replace my factory 205 45/17's on the 07 GT. A local dealer has some General Tire UHP's but only in 215 45/17. If anybody is running this size tire I would appreciate knowing if they have noticed any differences or problems once they switched to the wider tire.
I have the same plan in mind. The calculator below and Tire Rack agree that there should be no fit issues. (stock wheels)

Since 205/45/17 is not a very common tire size, a good majority of NC owners replace the oem tires with 215/45/17 with no problems at all... +10mm is no big deal in fitment....
No problem to run the 215/45R17. Very common.

I'm on my second set of 215/45R17. It's fine. There's a slight (slight, slight) inaccuracy introduced to the speedometer thanks to the taller tire, but your speedo is probably off by that much or more, anyway. To see the percent change, plug in the appropriate tire sizes in the tire calculator.
Many people run 225/45R17 on our OEM wheels and do fine, as well. Going to a 235 width is a bit much, though, stick to 205 through 225 widths for your replacement tires.
I'm running 215/45/17's on my NC with 17x7, 52mm offset wheels and 1.5quot; lowering springs with no problems. |
