Tools from wedding registry!
If anyone remembers my thread from last year, some of the tools I registered for have been coming in. Here is the original thread where you guys gave me some ideas of what to register for, for my wedding.

We have had the bridal showers (one was a jack and jill wedding shower) already so unless folks bring a lot of heavy gifts to the wedding, I'm not expecting anything else. Most people still really like to give kitchen gifts. It is too bad they like to stray from the registry so much; we keep getting duplicates of things we already own.
So far I got:
--Hammer (Stanley Fatmax, a good everyday hammer).
--21 piece pilot point drill bit set
--Drilling Hammer
--Sear's gift card (which I plan to use to buy the wet/dry vac)
Still looking for on the registry:
--Miter Saw
--Drill
--Angle Grinder
--Wet/Dry Vac
--Rubber mallet
--Random orbit sander
The tools were all bought by guys so I think women will always be the main gift buyers and chose to buy kitchen gifts. I am still crossing my fingers for some Home Depot/Lowes giftcards to show up in envelopes at the wedding!
wait, you didn't make a quot;Miataquot; parts/accessories registry list? shame shame lol

Nah. I am happy with my car and don't really need anything for it right now other than a couple body panels.
well then, may you get your wishes.....

and good luck to you and the Mrs.!
I would add a good bench vise to the list. Either a 4quot; or prefer 6quot;. Find one that has an anvil in back that has both a flat surface and a tapered end. Would also get some soft jaw inserts. I just used the anvil the other day to compound bend a flat steel rod using a Mapp torch and big hammer. Not something I do daily but I have five different vises and at least one gets used on a daily basis in my workshop.
Wow, this is great! This might give Jeff Foxworthy a whole new group of sayings for you might be a redneck if...
I told my brother and sister that they didn't need to give me any Christmas presents, but fortunately they have started giving me things like a garage vacuum cleaner, a battery powered drill, and a collection of drills and bits. I have started giving my brother random gifts (not at Christmas) of tools that I have found useful, but haven't found anything to give my sister.
I would hope tools wouldn't make it into a redneck joke!
Get a good cordless drill (18v) along with extra battery. I like the DeWalt stuff as the batteries interchange and hold charges well (better than the Ryobi stuff) not to mention the difference in torque. Plus, you can set the fasteener end for spin torque, etc., so as to not overtighten screws.
Another item - get a decent electrical tester, it will last almost forever and you will like it much better than getting quot;lit upquot;.
One of the most often uesd tools we have, as long as I can keep my wife away from using it all of the time for this or that project. |
