I thought that I posted this earlier today, but can't find it. Sorry if it's a duplicate.
I'm considering purchasing a 05 MSM, with 35k on the clock. Is appears to be fer well cared for, doesn't had a single door ding and the leather interior looks like new. New tires and has a clean car fax, private party. What's a good price?
Are you looking at a 06 or a 05? vb/showthread.php?t=339089
Brad
I really feel dumb. I'm looking at an 05. 06 was a typo.

$12k USD since it is still summer, but $10,500 when December rolls around. You have to want an MSM over an NC though, as the price differential will be little to none. I'd opt for the NC myself. You may not.
It's Lava Orange. I'm not crazy about the body style of the NC. You're right there really isn't that much of a price differance. I just love the color and if the NC came in Lava Orange with the canvas top I would jump on it, just for the cup holders :-)

Wow, tough one. Lava Orange is THE color IMHO and so would cause me to end up paying a premium for it. Truly well maintained, I'd pay $14K for that car, might even stretch to 15K. However, any other color to me would make it about a $13K car so if the color doesn't speak to you, don't follow my advice.

Now there's a man who loves bright colors. I'm curious, was Lava Orange a 2000.00 upgrade when the car was new?

Not for me, but they are rather rare. I think the Black 2005 MSM is the best looking Miata exterior of any year. Just a fantastic looking car. However, the NC is a new platform and while I did come within $500 of buying an 05 MSM years ago, I'd much prefer an NC at this point.

Looked like the going rate for a lava orange was around $17000 last year. Well at least for ours and we saw a few in our area in that range. It had 17k miles when we bought it in september 08. They are pretty rare. The lava orange was only produced in 05. Supposedly only 297 of them produced as the factory in japan caught fire that year and production had to be stopped. There were only 1428 mazdaspeeds made total that year due to the fire.
I didn't want to post this until I got the car. I drove it home yesterday, paid $13,500 for it with 35k on the clock. Excellent condition, inside and out. After market Injen air intake, front splitter, and a very nice care cover.
Congrats I look forward to seeing some pictures? That car is on my short list I love the color.

Please tell me where you are getting $12K or less 2005 MSMs with 35K miles. I want to buy a few. Tell you what, I'll pay 12.5 and you find them negotiate and keep the difference. I am serious. Of course we are talking clean title no accident cars that are cared for because I assume thats what this is about. If you just point me to them we can work a deal that way as well.
My friend here in Houston just bought a 2004 MSM (Red) with 38k miles in perfect shape for $12900. Both cars were well bought!
I've been watching autotrader amp; craigslist for over a year now. I've missed two because I could not get by to see them quick enough. When you find them you have to be ready to jump. The only problem with this one was it didn't have a clear title. Here in North Carolina you have to wait for the lein holder to release the title before you can get the tags. So it's sitting in my garage and I'm driving my old 99 w/134k on the clock.

Congrats on the lava orange. BTW there is a Lava registry under the Mazdaspeed section that you might want to put your name under |
