NB suspension on a NA

Would a stock NB suspension set up(shocks, and springs) fit on a NA. My 95 has 225000 on the stock suspension and a friend is going to give me his old ones of his 99 until I get my new set up later down the road.

Yes. Height be a little higher.

Easy IF you get the top hats along with the springs amp; shocks.
Search.

Is his '99 stock or sport suspension?
If its stock, is it over 40k miles?
If yes, don't waste your time. You'll be replacing worn out shocks with worn out shocks.

it is the sport suspension I just e-mailed him asking how many miles are on it

Don't do it. The shocks are longer and you will look like a monster truck.

Which ones, the regular NB, the Sport S or the HardS?
If it is just the NB shock that is being installed, if one uses the stock NB shock rod nut on the stock NA shock mount it will raise the car. If, however, one uses a tube to offset the shock rod mount point the car will settle at a regular height. See picture link below. Now, what length those tubes have to be, I don't know. I would think that those tubes would have to be welded to the shock mount top.

A very nice upgrade if I do say so myself.
I'm running the 99S shock assemblies myself, they came directly off a 99 and were swapped onto my 91 fully assembled.
I already had a FM 7/8ths front swaybar on my car set to full stiff and I run the stock rear swaybar.
Honestly, I can't think of a better bang for buck upgrade (I paid $200 dollars for the assemblies).
You get the improved NB shock mounts and all the NVH an handling/road holding benefits that come by having them, the superior urethane bumpstops, stiffer springs that will keep you right around stock height so you don't have to worry about speed bumps, and superior monotube shock absorbers (that have a different bottom end design then the NA shocks for better low-speed piston damping) that you can have re-valved at any time for either a stiffer suspension setup or keep them mated to the 99S springs.
The setup also rides better then stock.
Absolutely love them on my 91.

I have a similar setup on my STS miata...works GREAT

I was told by Flying Miata that one possible issue is that the NB suspension on an NA may cause the front to sit slightly higher than the rear.

Sitting just right on my 91.

Just bought my first miata a couple of weeks ago...never knew I wanted one but a guy offered me a deal I couldn't refuse. We're BFF's now....I love this thing!
It's a cherry 90 model with 180k....pulled the wheels and the shocks are original stock..on top of the shock tubes are stacks of rubber rings where a shock boot should be!
Anyway, I've ordered a set of KYB GR2's with new boots and am thinking about new shock mounts. I think I've read here that quot;nbquot; mounts can be used on an quot;naquot; with slight modification to some advantage .....being more shock travel and cheaper mounts?
I went ahead and spent forty bucks on a pair of OEM mounts for the rear so I'll have them when I do the swap if I can make 'em work.
Will these new quot;naquot; shocks work ok with the quot;nbquot; mounts?

These are the mounts I ordered.  The boots are KYB which are matched to the shocks.
I haven't dug into the existing mounts yet but I'm guessing they're in rough shape and since I'm focusing on the rear (lots of bounce there) I just ordered the pair for the back (maybe). I'd like to get it right (the rear end) the first time in and hopefully the front will be good enough with with just new shocks and I can go back in and upgrade later.
