Why does my LS not have power locks?

Ok well i was looking through the 2000 quot;Miatas In Americaquot; guide that lists all the options for something else and i noticed that according to this I have all the other ls options but power door locks. Does anybody else have power door locks? Here's what it says...
LS Miata:
Includes items of Standard Miata plus:
Tan Interrior with Tan leather-trimmed seats
Tan vinyl top and boot
Torsen limited-slip differential
195/50R15 82V Michelin high performance tires
Power door locks
Cruis control
Windblocker panel
Carpeted floor matas
Bose music system
Cassette player
Door mounted tweeter speakers

i dont think torsen lsd is standard on ls and if u have power window.u will have power door lock.it just doesnt have a power door lock switch

In the FAQ on the Home Page there are some data on the 99-00 which were pretty much identical.  The 2001 facelift had a lot of changes, but your 2000 should be pretty much the same as my 99.  For 99, the FAQ says there was no LS package.  In order of expense and additional features, the various packages were:
Base
Touring Package
Popular Equipment Package
Leather Package (PEP + tan leather, tan top, 15quot; alloys, Bose audio) - this sounds like what you think you have.
Look here for the FAQ: faq/

Crazy,
All 2000 Miatas had power windows but not all have the power lock.  The power lock is in the passenger door only.  When you move the driver's door lock the passenger door lock follows it.  There is no separate button and no actuator in the driver's door.

1. Your 2000 LS does have power locks. If you lock/unlock the driver's door from outside with your key, what does the passenger lock do?
2. @crazyguy:The Torsen LSD _is_ standard on the LS package.
3. @SwamiiGuru: '99 and '00 are identical cars, but the packages available are different between the two years. The quot;Leather Packagequot; for your '99 is very similar to the LS package, but not the same thing. 2000 was the first year for teh LS package.

Thanks for that!  I can't keep the packages clear in my mind for some reason.

thanks guys..

Do you mean power door locks or remote door locks?

Here's a nice breakdown of packages by year: MotorCity/5361/

The 2000 section has some errors.  It list the windblocker as optional and 15quot; wheels as standard.  It was the other way around.  There may be other discrepancies but I know those two are incorrect.

Thanks guys for the input. Ya thats what i was going off of. I havn't tried unlocking from the outside and watching the passenger yet, I'll have to give it a try when i get home (on vacation atm.) I just assumed that it didn't have them because of no buttons.
It really doesn't matter though, I don't lock my doors anyways. Ii'd much rather somebody go through my spare change than cut through my top to get to it.
Well here's another thought though, if i do have power locks, does that mean i can install a remote?

I had a '00 LS and now have an '01 LS.  The description of the differences in the locks are correct.  The '01 has a key fob that unlocks both doors and also a button to quot;popquot; the trunk.  I love that feature.

Your power locks also work from the inside.  Lock the driver side when you get in and the passenger side will lock as well.  Guess they figured since the lock is so close to your hand (unlike most cars where it is by your shoulder) that they didn't need another switch.

Weird!
I have a 01' LS with Power windows and Mirrors but not power locks!
I have already locked/unlocked my door with the key and from the outside with no avail.
Any pointers?

IIRC, on the driver door side, you have to hold the key in the unlock position for an extra second to also unlock the passenger side at the same time.  I don't think I have ever used my key to lock the doors from the driver side because it was just easier to hit the inside lock switch as I was getting in.  I believe that you don't have to pause on the passenger side to unlock both doors by the key.

I think mine has power locks, just doesnt have a separate switch like we are used to. On mine, you lock or unlock the driver side and that locks or unlocks both the driver and the passenger sides.

So you don't have a key fob with a trunk unlock and door unlock button?

No I don't?
Car never came with one?
Any ideas?

Wow, I really don't.  Is it a US car?  Sure it's really an LS?
