Trans Cooler for NC?

Has anybody mounted a tranmission cooler on their Miata?  I have an 2006 GT 6AT that pulls a light weight trailer and would like a trans cooler.  Any recommendations??  Earlier years??  Source?

I believe it already has quite a substantial ATF to air cooler.
Yours gone missing?

Nope, just a belt and suspenders kind of guy.  I figured that the extra cooler would be added protection for the trailer towing.  I'm not aware of the cooling capabilities of the stock cooler.  Pretty substantial you say, huh?  Good.

Have you read the Owner's Manual?  There is lotsa good info there, including about an over temperature protection feature of the 6AT.

Three years ago.  I'll have to read it again.

If I were towing a trailer with my NC (heaven forbid) here's what I would do:
1.  I'd use manual mode, especially under hard conditions, eg high temperatures, steep climbs, etc.  Then the 6AT controller would warn me of overheating of the tranny (see the OM).  Then I could take action to let it cool down, and I would know that I actually had this problem, or not.
2. I'd choose gear and throttle position, such that I got the revs up a bit, and such that the torque converter was locked   as much as possible.  It's the (unlocked) torque converter that generates much of the heat in an auto.
If you are unfamiliar with torque converter lock up, and how to recognize it, just ask.

I've been away but back now.  Tell me about torque converter lock up?

Well first of all do you know what a torque converter is, how it functions, how it heats the ATF?
If not try Googling.

I have a basic understanding and the wiki article helped expand that. Thanks.  How do you recognize when lockup occurs?  I had a Dodge Magnum with a lockup torqueflite that chattered when it went bad but that was the only way I knew it was trying to lockup.
