95 Integra ls inside of trunk wet when it rains
I don't see any obvious holes, but everytime it rains or snows I find the carpet wet inside the trunk at the left and right corners. Anyone else come across this problem? I guess I should try splashing the car with water then check, but maybe there is a simpler solution that you guys are aware of? Yeah, I am the lazy kind!
check the rubber linning. If your car si old enough, that may have rotted.
seal the tail lights this happened to me before i used to have what looked like an aquarium in my trunk. Seal them with some clear silicone. if you dont seal them and alot of water gets in there the watter will leak throughout the inside of the car, not good
Thanks guys! They both sound like good ideas. I'll take a look and let u know.
Ok, the rubber seal looks good, so I guess it must be the tail-lights and it seems logical since the wet areas are near the tail-lights. Not sure if I should put the silicone on the outside where it's easier to access or on the inside where it's gonna be out of sight...hmmmm.
Go to acura and get new tail light gaskets you can see here ...prddisplay.jsp
Also make sure the drain tube for the sunroof is not clogged it can also make water puddle up in the hatch. Check this out sections...?ArticleID=546
Thanks Whtteg, great site there! I registered and looked at the article. Guess there's more to a leaking trunk than just a hole in the hatch!
No prob man I help as much as I can |
