Need a dirt cheap repair on the zip-out window

Ok, my zip out window is separating quickly on my new 97 M.  The stitching that fixes the plastic to the canvas has dry-rotted and I made the quot;rookie who owned a 99 before his 97quot; mistake of folding down the top w/o zipping out the window first and so I've got about 10 inches of open seam at the bottom of the window and an inch on either side of the window.
My question is--for a quick cheap fix, could I use something like Gorilla epoxy to quickly seal the 3 gaps, then go over the outside with clear waterproof caulk to seal it off?  I know its not a quality repair, but how long would it hold...or would it hold at all?  Thanks for any advice.

Might work. When my top had a problem I used the search tool and found a number of threads that spec'd some different products, VLP adhesive and Permatex vinyl adhesive and some diff tapes.  Also it might be possible to resew the seam, u could use a tent repair kit, although I've never done it, but it seems like it might work and a kit is like $5. For sure I would lube the zipper before using again, I use White Lightening a wax chain lube found in about any bicycle store. Also most clear caulk is silicone and it can be a strong adhesive so make sure it is well cured before putting the top down.  Good luck
