Rpm drops to zero while cruising (link ems)

Im having a problem that seems electrical. While Im driving at any speed the rpm drops to zero, the engine is still running but i can't accelerate when im stepping on the gas pedal. I can hear the throttle opening and the bov goin off. This happens for about 5 seconds and its like an on switch and the car will get goin again.
Im goin to change out the coil packs and plugs. Thats the only thing I can think of and change out myself.  Whats goin on here, anything else that it might could be? I hope its not the Link ecu itself. any help would be appreciated, thanks.

Do you have a Link? If so, if the air temp sensor is getting wet it won't let you go into boost, which would give you the syptoms you described. There may be other things that will cause the Link to keep you out of boost also, such as temp.
