relay under dash

So I've got this relay hanging down and rattling behind the dash above drivers left knee.  It has a yellow connector and slots on it to slide onto a bracket, but I can't find where it goes.  I tywrapped it up for now but was wondering what it is for and where it's supposed to be.  Thanks for any info.

There is a stud that it bolts to way up in the dash. Here is a pic from the top of the drivers seat with the panel off.

Thanks for the picture....I looked at my car and see two studs as possibilities, one has the airbag module/power supply bracket on it, the other is higher up and has nothing on it.
But there must be some kind of bracket (which I do not have) that connects the relay to the stud .  The relay has slots on 2 sides which appear to be for connecting onto a bracket which would then mount on the stud?

From what you describe I believe it is the one higher up. Check us out at Triad Miata's on the link below.

Ok thanks

Well I found out what that relay is for.  I changed the fuel filter this afternoon (oh boy what a fun job that was....not) and I disconnected it to bleed off the fuel pressure.  It's the fuel pump relay, or whatever they call it on a 1.6 and the yellow connector is the easy way to identify it.
Evidently a previous owner pulled it down for easier access.  I just didn't like it rattling behind the dash so I guess I'll just leave it ty-wrapped out of the way.

It is the doomsday connection.  Never, ever touch it!!!!!!!
