Question for people who have sold their car
I am about to sell my car, and just had a question/concern. I have to fax a copy of my car title to the buyer's bank. He also told me that I have to fax them a copy of the bill of sale. I read online that you should not give the bill of sale until the seller has received the funds for the car. Is this true? Should I not fax a copy of the bill of sale over to his bank before receiving my funds?
IMO, I would like to receive all funds before sending anything?
that's what I figured. I don't really care about faxing over the title, cause I still have the original copy. He said the bank needs to see a copy of the title in order for him to receive the check for what he got approved for.
Maybe ask for a down payment and some sort of contract?
You dont want to get ****ed on something like this
yeah, tell me about it. I mean, I already met the guy once when he came to check the car out, and I have talked to him multiple times, but you never I guess.

He might need the title info, but he should not need a bill of sale prior to buying it. The bank will only loan him a certain amount, the value they consider the car to be. It's called loan value. Some banks only give 80%, some give full value.
And definately write a terms of sale agreement, with both of your signatures.

Well see, I thought that the bill of sale is a sale agreement. I have to sign it as well as him, and it also states all the other facts/warranties about my car. |
