My friend has a QX4 he did it to. Its gangster. He has 5 percent all around and 35 percent of the windshield. I know its illegal and I dunno how safe at night it is but you can't see threw his windshield even standing 5 feet away.

You can get an idea from these 2 pics... Def one of my fav mods. Yes, it's illegal in most states. Yes, I've been pulled over for it. Yes, it can be hard to see out of at night. Just be careful and it pays off. The privacy is great and it really keeps that summer heat out.

  who's the chicks?

I tinted my windsheild 35% carbon tint
Not hard to see out at night if you have xenons

only prob w/ tinting the fronts is that IF you get into an accident and the police amp; insurance co. finds out your windshield is tinted, you are F#CKED.

The insurance guy will try and say that the tinted windshield was the cause, only to avoid paying for the accident.  Any good lawyer can argue against the tinted windshield as the cause of the problem.

Unless you have it done legally. (...medical waiver.)

I Saw Em All Over Puerto Rico This Summer. Not On Bmw Though. Only Only On Sht That Probably Wsn't Insured Anyway.

it does look nice, but cops and insurance are keeping me from doing it.

your lawyer will have to prove that it did not effect the visability or driving conditions, while the Insurance Co. will only have to suggest that it "Contributed" to the accident. you may not be found at fault, but with a contributory finding you are out of insurance coverage!

In what legal universe might this be true? I've never heard of contributory negligence (to which I think you may be alluding) voiding (or making voidable) a contract with an insurance company. If coverage is specifically excluded in the event of illegal tinting, which I suspect is highly unlikely, then maybe so, but even then, I can imagine a couple of end-runs around the issue. In any event, you have the burden of proof backwards; as a general rule, one who asserts a fact at issue has the burden of proving it by a preponderance of the evidence (in a civil case). Sorry, I rant :-)
Think about it; have you ever heard of an ins. co. denying coverage to some guy who wrecks his car while blind drunk on the grounds that he was blind drunk, certainly affecting his vision and the driving conditions?

in fact I have seen it happen... a number of years ago in Ca. a friend of mine had his windshield tinted and got intio a wreck.
Not his fault, but the other ins claimed that he was culpable due toi illegal modifications. Judge rulled against him.
His insurance paid to have his car fixed but it went on his premium and the insurance co dropped him.
