Front Lower Control Arms

I need to remove my front lower control arms to get some reinforced tabs welded for the attachments for the end links.
Can I simply remove the 2 bolts attaching inboard to the frame (and use that opportunity to put in fresh alignment bolts).
Then remove bolt attached to bottom of shock.
Then remove the one horizontal and one vertical bolt holding brake/ball joint assembly to the arm.

Is it this simple or am I missing something involving more hassle with the ball joint etc?

You forgot the 3 days of soaking with PB blaster. Those bolts attaching the spindle to the lower arm are tough. Make sure you leave the lower arm attached to the frame when you are removing the spindle attachment bolts, they will require a great deal of torque to remove.

Why not weld in place ?
