Questions on the 1.6 to 1.8 conversion

If i buy a long block 1.8 can I use the PS and AC from the 1.6?
(will be getting a 1.6/1.8 kit from FM)
Also if I wanted to do a 99 head swap how well would it work from 1.6-1.8-1.8 w/99 head?
Any other things I should know before the 1.8 conversion?

Moved to the Power section where your swap would be discussed. Conversions section is for non-Miata engines being swapped into the Miata.  (confusing I know)
Someone will be along to help you soon. Good luck and welcome to Miata.nuthouse!

I purchased the FM kit and used Keith Tanner's project book as a guide (sold on FM's website), worked out well for me! Highly recommend Tanner's book, keep mine in the trunk....AC and PS intact.

Yes.

As well as it would for any other 1.8 NA owner who installs a '99 head. Ideally you'll want to find a way to control the VICS mechanism, and you'll run just a tad leaner in open-loop. You'll also need to tweak things just a tad to fit the 1.6's FPR onto the NB fuel fail. No biggie, just something to be aware of.

How to tie a bowtie.
Three ways to remove red wine stains from silk.
CPR and first-aid for burns.
The full name of The Bride from Kill Bill.
What to do when dealer has a 6 showing and you've got a 6 and a 5.
How to satisfy a woman's emotional needs.
Ballroom dancing.
The location of the two nearest exits, keeping in mind that they may be behind you.
Binary arithmetic.

Joe, you are the man! I only know about half of those things.....which would explain why my car runs good but not great!!!

I would recommend putting the 1.8 in first, see how you like it, then do the head swap. That way you can get the swap up and running, making sure you didn't do anything wrong. If you swap the head first, you have a number more variables and chances for failure. I also recommend getting the 1.6-1.8 swap kit from Flyin Miata.
