Gauges

Got a set of aftermarket gauges, (oil pres.,volt, wat temp) is there any place to hook these up besides the original places?
These are manual gauges....capillary tube for water an tubing for oil pres.
Thanx Guys

See this vendor for some ideas:   gauge.html

I already have the gauges an know where I'm putting them. I am interested in the hookups on the engine since they are the manual type gauges

I installed a Thompson relocation for my oil filter and included his optional oil pressure sensor fitting for my gauge. Works great. As far as water temp I can't remember the vendor but I bet JC Whitney or Jegs have a brass T which simply splices into the input side of your heater core at the firewall. A friend of mine has that and it is uber easy to install. Something kina like this vdo_indA.asp?PN=ATM-2280 but the one I'm thinking of was cheaper.

That part looks nice for a elec sender, but the manual sender/capillary tube sender is about 2 to 3 inches long

On ebay you can get a sandwich plate for a Protege and it will work for oil psi (glowshift - dumb people, but good price on plate).
For water temp you may ned to fad a union tube for the size hose where water goes into the heater core.
For voltage, take positive coming to the fuse box in the car, any close ground.

I remember looking for an oil feed whenever I was thinking about doing a turbo on my NA.  Isn't there a place on the backside of the drivers side of the block?

I'm doing the same thing on my 00' with Mech. gauges.Put the sender for water temp. in a brass quot;Tquot; fitting in the heater hose going to the heater core. This is the water flow being monitored by the stock senders on the back of the head.
For oil pressure you can attach the capillary tube directly to the stock sender location. You will need this adapter 1/8-27NPT to 1/8-28 BSP.$3 at this site/site also has the 3 gauge single DIN plate to replace the cassette player for$13.If you wish to retain the operation of the OEM OP gauge you can use a oil filter location pancake adapter also from this link.
Pretty much what Fox said above with a little more info.

Thanx for the good info  guys......

Toolman,
Where are you mounting the gauges?I pulled out the cassette player, disconnected the battery and put the Bose head where the cassette was.It took about 15 minutes.I'm putting the new gauges in the old Bose head location.Pretty much standard procedure for this mod.
Where are you going through the firewall with the capillary tubes?Any ideas to share?

I'll probably put mine right below the radio where the cubby?hole is. Ain't decided where the caps are gonna go thru yet. I don't get in a hurry anymore at my age. It might take me a month before I even decide to do it....LOL
