2004 model year - while driving from KY to MI yesterday I noticed that hardly any air was coming out the vents, even with the blower switch on 4/high. I stopped at Cabela's for about 30 minutes and when I restarted the car, the output seemed to be a lot stronger, but it started getting weaker again in about five minutes. Today everything worked great but I only drove it for about 10 miles. Does this sound like a blower motor resistor problem or could it be something else?
Frank
Does it sound like the fan is spinning? If so, could be a venting problem, might be coming out the defrost vent.
If the motor is not turning, need to start troubleshooting the electrical.
It could have picked up leaves or trash under the hood (the wiper motor area) and sucked them in the squirrel cage.

I could hear the blower running, but now I can't recall how it sounded compared to how it sounds now - was it faster/slower/louder/quieter? I did try it on all the venting settings. Defrost was the worst, I could barely feel anything coming out the defrost vents, even with the blower on high.

I have read about this happening in other threads on this forum. I removed the blower resistor and I could stick my fingers in through the opening and I could feel the blower. It spun real easy and it was nice and quiet. There didn't seem to be any binding or resistance or unusual noises at all.
If something did get sucked in it would still be in there, right? I'm not sure that would explain why it's working fine now.

I suspect the blower motor itself is failing. Probably the shaft bearings.
