Would you strip a NC before sale?

Just curious as I am stripping mine of all the aftermarket goodies. Figured I wouldn't get a thing for the thousands of extra equipment when it sells. Do you do this also, or am I alone on this?

Not sure why the question is NC specific.
In general, I only remove things that 'leave no trace' AND that I have planned reuse for OR a buyer already lined up for.
Often I'll list the car at a price that gives some consideration for the parts on board and see if there are takers as is. But I'm never in a hurry to sell either.
While there are a lot of 'I want unmolested' proclaimers here, the real market has about as many 'I'd love to have some proper mods already done for me' buyers. That's because they realize they are getting a bargain on the cost, assuming they are mods they want.

I asked this question when I was selling my previous 02.
The bottom line is YES, remove everything that you can which will not show that the car has been modified. For example, if you cut interior trim to install something, leave it in place or replace the trim part.
I didn't get a penny extra for any aftermarket part I installed. I could have made some extra money selling these separate.
But I can say that the Racing Beat Dual muffler I had on the car is what the guy who bought it liked the most. He told me that this is what made him buy mine over another one. I didn't get extra for it, but it helped me sell the car.

I remove everything right down to the most insignificant item. I keep all the OEM stuff to put back on the car. Any alterations from stock will significantly hurt the price.
I sell all the removed items, and so far, through the years, I have never had a problem getting rid of it. Today Craigslist.org makes it even easier!

It's quite proper to remove your expensive aftermarket parts and replace them with the Stock OEM Parts that came with the car. Provided that the replacement work is done well.

Yes, definitely remove everything you can and sell it separate from the car to get the most money from the car, give yourself the biggest available pool of buyers, and get extra money from selling the parts. It is more trouble for you, but worth it in the long run.
A few years ago I was trying to sell my Neon that was (tastefully) modified, most of the parts were high quality, either custom or expensive aftermarket parts, no appearance or interior modifications. I was trying to get $4500 for the car with all of the parts on it with lots of extra stuff like wheels and tires as well. No takers. I pulled everything except the Quaife LSD and Crane Cams and got $2000 for the car and around $4000 for all of the parts sold separately.

You have a lot of company here - strip and part out if you want to make anything on any mods. The only way you can somewhat equalize the cost of modding is if you find a buyer who knows you, your car, has the same taste, and is in the market for buying an NC (that is how is sold my previous 350Z).
clmson89 ...  As you are moving to you new interest -- an NA. Just great !!   And thanks for all the memories and email exchanges we had regarding the Ohlins DFV install ... we were some of the first with this great suspension setup.
Also ... I enjoyed your quot;stripingquot; episodes on your NC ... lots of fun.

No, I'd let it go. It is worth nothing to a new buyer and IMO a waste of $ unless I intend to keep the car til it dies.

I'd be willing to bet that someone you drive past each day would love to have your car.
How fast do you have to sell it? If you have time, let the people in your community know it's for sale.
Your car is well done, I bet you can sell it for what it's worth.

I think I will go with the strip it phylosophy. I listed all the goodies in the classified section of the forum, so look there before pm me. Yeah, it's been fun and I'm sure I'll miss it. The darn thing handles like a F1 car now. I have an NA that will have to due for now. I gotta get a four seater so the family can join me at the track or wherever I may be going. Gonna get a ragtop Mustang I think. Thanks to all for you help along the way. Heck, mayby an ND will be in order.

If you are trading it in at the dealer, yeah strip it down baby.
I agree that some private party may want it loaded with goodies.  they aren't going to pay what you paid... I mean you could see what sells with it on, and take off what the buyer doesn't want.
it's not an NC specific question, for sure.
Hope ya get a fair price for it.

Strip it out is prob the best solution.  You could try and advertise it here, at some autocross events, or other various perf oriented forums if have some time before you need to sell.  The average sale will not want mods.
