Smoking deal on Penskes for NA/NB Miata!
If you always wanted some pimpy monotubes, but didn't have the 4-5 large to purchase them, here's your chance. Just saw this ad:
Penske Doubles for $2K
I have these same shocks (valved differently) on my Civic. They kick ass.
No affiliation, blah, blah, blah.
Somebody snatch these up for an STS car!

ugh... if only I had $2k sitting around.
And to be honest if I had 2k sitting around, it'd be going towards me going to nationals (which isn't going to happen... again... this year)
Thanks Andy. PM sent.
That is a smokin' good price. But I see Geoff Chambers is on that like a duck on a junebug.

+1 Saw this over on SCCAForums and squeezed a couple tears out.

Fixed that for ya.

That's just not right, I only started Guy on my new Penske order two weeks ago (after not being able to find any used deals out there).
You really know how to hurt a guy
I won't be able to follow through. They weren't going to be for the STS car anyway. We are absolutely 100% pleased with our current 3012 Konis. They were going to be for our XP Miata build but we're way too far out on that project to be buying shocks right now.
i'd have gotten them if I had the $$$ lol
Looks like a CSP car will be sporting some new shocks soon

No problem - I will pay up in Lincoln.
one can of Lone Star coming right up
After reviewing the shock stats, I had to pass on them. They were just a bit too long for my application - but would be perfect for a NA.
Couldn't you just use something like ISC Racing's extended upper shock mount plate. I have something similiar to that on my back shocks to make my Penske's fit.
John
I could have made them work and had already talked to Guy Ankeny about that. It was just the cost of making them work combined with the purchase price got close enough to new shock prices that I felt it was best to just get new ones.
For an additional $150 the seller has a set of FM upper shock mounts. Not only a great deal on the shocks but that's a killer deal on the FM tophats.
Way too long for my cut up and tubbed beast, but would be a killer STS/STR setup. |
