Question regarding JL Audio W7?

A friend has bought 2 13.5 inch W7s for his car. What kind of amplifier should he use? I was thinking of the 1000/1 but would he need one of them or 2?

  They are supposed to handle 1000 watts RMS so 2 if he wants to max them out.

  It could take both but one will be fine. im pretty sure they make thst amp for the 12" and 13". I have a 10" w7 on a phoenix gold 600 and the sub sounds awesome.
