Windshield Sizes different between NA's?

I just learned something new today... something that didn't seem right at all.
Went to get some prices on a replacement front windshield for Stef's '91, and learned that there are two different sized windshields for the NA.
I'm not sure where the cutoff was, but the shop told me that there is an inch difference between the glass used in the 91 and the 96.
Is this true? I always thought the NA bodies were pretty identical.

There is A difference, but it's not in the dimensions. The 90 through 94 windshields do not have a mirror mount attached.  95+ have a mount. I'm pretty sure the 95 to 05 windshields are all the same.

My 95 has the mirror mounted to the frame, not the glass.  Was the cutoff in mid-95?
